Moving Utilities

When you are moving, whether it may be long distance or a local move, you must plan your move carefully. Remember to contact the customer service department at least two weeks in advance of your move. Make arrangements with the utilities companies to have your electric, gas and phone connected until the day, or even the day after, you move. You will want to keep these connected on the day of your move in case of emergencies. However, you should plan in advance to have the utilities on in your new home before you get there.

The last thing you need is to get to your new home and not have power, gas, phone or heat. Careful planning in advance will make your move less stressful and more comfortable for you and your family. Don't forget, if you have deposits from previous utilities companies, you will want to collect these, and if you have pending bills, you will want to pay these off as well, so you can move and have a fresh start!!
