Packing Your Furniture

Furniture is expensive to buy and replace. Thus when you are moving it is important that you pack your furniture well. You may want to leave the heavy furniture for Compass Van Lines to pack. We usually wrap heavy and expensive furniture in blankets, to ensure there is no scratching or damage to them during the move.

You may wish to pack smaller pieces of furniture by yourself. Ask a Compass Van Lines moving consultant for packing material that is appropriate. The edges and the feet of the furniture require maximum protection and you could layer the same with bubble wrap or thin blankets.

If your furniture can be dismantled, then ensure that you place all the pieces in the same carton or box. Also put all screws and smaller parts in a clear plastic bag and include it in the box. You may want to leave written instructions for yourself, so that it is easier to assemble the furniture later.
