Reminder When you Plan to Move to a New Home

Moving to your new home is both exciting and exhausting in the sense that you are curious on the new place and the job of moving entails careful planning and lots of preparation. But before you leave on your current residence, you have to make sure that everything has already been settled so when you move to your new house there would be no problem at all.

  • Plan at least 8 weeks prior to your move, this is enough to settle your unpaid bills and for submitting your request for disconnection. Make sure that the telephone lines, cable or internet service, and electricity are cut-off once you leave the house. Make a list of inventory for a checklist.
  • Talk with your moving company on your plan to move and decide if you want them to handle the packing and unpacking of your valuable belongings and furniture. Get an estimate on the actual cost for the move so you can prepare the budget.
